Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962)

In 1946 Hermann Hesse was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.

His books are popular all over the world, he might just be Germany's most successful literary export.
'Siddharta', 'The Glass Bead Game', 'Demian' and 'Steppenwolf' have all been translated in to many languages.

Hesse's work is determined by values like liberalism, tolerance and open-mindedness.
