Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Wilhelm Busch's masterpiece 'Max and Moritz'

Wilhelm Busch (1832 - 1908)

Wilhelm Busch's humoristic works have shaped the imagination of many German children.

His illustrated story of two rascals 'Max and Moritz' is nowadays considered to be the epitome of children's literature. His figures are highly stereotyped, his drawings satirical.
